Summary
Atriplex littoralis is an erect, annual plant with a branched stem; it can grow 25 - 75cm tall[74]. The plant is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use as a food.
Physical Characteristics
Atriplex littoralis is a BIENNIAL growing to 0.7 m (2ft 4in) by 0.3 m (1ft) at a fast rate.

Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils, prefers well-drained soil and can grow in nutritionally poor soil. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils and can grow in very alkaline and saline soils.
It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought.

Wild. Species in this genus generally succeed in full sun in any well-drained but not too fertile soil[200]. Most species in this genus tolerate saline and very alkaline soils[200]. Sometimes mentioned as a shrub or annual. In northern Europe it has flowers from July until September.
