Summary
Artemisia anomala is a herbaceous, perennial plant growing from 80 - 150cm tall[266
]. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine. The native range of this species is S. China, Taiwan.
Physical Characteristics
Artemisia anomala is a PERENNIAL growing to 1 m (3ft 3in) at a medium rate.
See above for USDA hardiness. It is hardy to UK zone 9. It is in flower from July to November, and the seeds ripen from August to November. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs).
Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers moist soil.

Artemisia anomala is found at elevations up to 1,200 metres in areas of southern and eastern China where the hardiness zones range from 8 - 10. It should experience at least moderate frosts.
Species in this genus are generally easily grown, succeeding in a well-drained circumneutral or slightly alkaline loamy soil, preferring a sunny position[1

]. They tend to be longer lived, more hardy and more aromatic when they are grown in a poor dry soil[245
]. The native range of this species is S. China, Taiwan.
